In late December 2008, Israel launched a major attack on Gaza, purportedly in response to Hamas rocket attacks along the border. The operation was the beginning of a well-planned strategy by Israel to create a security pretext to re-insert itself in the Occupied Territories. The IPRD Campaign for Gaza aims to provide basic guidance and ideas for effectively engaging with government, media and civil society to support an accurate understanding of the causes and consequences of the Gaza crisis.
